Cooking Food and Making Coffee

What are we going to do without it? Cooking food and making coffee! Some say that everything smell and taste better in the great outdoors!

I don’t know how many times Mike told me, “Keep it simple.”

Well, first of all, define simple. I like to chop and I like to cook. This is one of the many reasons that motivates me to go out with “hubby.” I like to cook my meals outside and it does not bother me preparing it. I just simply enjoy doing it!

The Bartons and Food!

Coffee in the bushWe like drinking coffee before a meal and then take another cup later. It just feels good to have a cup of coffee in the woods. It is almost a MUST!

I don’t remember going out with Mike without at least having a coffee, a fire, and or a good meal.

It almost feels like something is missing if we do not do this heavenly routine! Weird but true!

I mean look at this piece of goodness below! How can you even think of not cooking and filling your mind with the aroma of this good meal! It is a gift and we must enjoy it!

PS: You are right, Everything smells better and taste better in the wild, I tried 🙂

  2. I saw you cooking bannock on a stick in one of your videos. What is the recipe for it? I live in a beautiful part of the central California coast (It DOES NOT SNOW here). We can camp all year long here and I own some property overlooking a local lake. I have been bushcrafting for many years and have a huge knife collection. Thanks for all your videos. I enjoy watching them.

  3. Thank you so much for your great videos!
Could you please let me know what brand of coffee you use?
    Thank You

    1. Thank you so much for watching our videos, we appreciate it. The coffee that we use is Nescafe 3-in-1 in small sachets. It’s just simple without having the hassle of bringing coffee, cream/milk, sugar. It is lightweight and it taste pretty good too! Hope this answers your question. Thanks again.
