Basic Stir Frying (Chicken & Vegetables)

Basic Stir FryingAt times we run out of ideas what to serve to our family. I know that being just the two of us at home, I always look for something simple and easy to do. So if you are up for the challenge here is what you could do.

Grab yourself some unmarinated meat at the store or maybe you already have some at home. Then take whatever vegetables you have (and probably do not know what to do with them), then slice them thinly and stir fry the whole thing. Instructions are below:

INGREDIENTS

1 lb Meat (Beef, Chicken, or Pork)

1 small onion (chopped)

4 cloves garlic (chopped)

1 tbsp soya sauce

1 tsp g. black pepper

1 tsp old bay seasoning

1 drop sesame oil

¼ tsp curry powder

1 tsp mustard seed

1 tsp salt

1 tsp crushed chili pepper

1 tbsp of flour

2 tbsp oil

PREPARATIONS

Combine all of these ingredients together to coat the meat except for onions & garlic.

Heat the pan. Pour the oil. Add the onions and garlic. Stir fry the meat until it’s golden brown. Remove from the pan & set aside.

For the Veggies: you will need: 1 tbsp oil, 1 tbsp fish sauce, ground pepper

Find any vegetables in fridge that you have (carrots, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, etc.) and simply slice them the way you want. I prefer “julienne” (cut into thin strips).

After removing the meat from the pan. Add the oil, then the veggies (starting with the vegetables that takes longer to cook like carrots, etc.). Add the rest and keep turning until it’s cooked to your liking. I like it a bit crunchy! 🙂 Season with fish sauce & pepper.

  1. This looks absolutely delicious! It’ll be yet another way my household will eat healthy by avoiding disease-causing refined grains and sugars. I didn’t know what “Old Bay Seasoning” was, but I found it online. It’s ingredients are: CELERY SALT (SALT, CELERY SEED), SPICES (INCLUDING RED PEPPER AND BLACK PEPPER), AND PAPRIKA.

    Thanks for sharing.
