Josie’s Pansit

Here are the ingredients to make a small batch of my favorite pansit. Let me know if you have any questions & I will be glad to answer them. The video link at the bottom was a bigger batch.

INGREDIENTS

1 package of FARKAY

1 tbsp. soya sauce

2 chicken breasts (cut into strips)

1 onion (chopped)

2 cloves of garlic (chopped)

½ red bell pepper (cut into strips)

4 tbsp. oil (separate)

1 tsp. fish sauce

2 tbsp. Oyster sauce (separate)

1 tsp. sesame oil

1 tsp. of pepper

1 tsp. crushed chili pepper

1 small carrot (cut into strips)

½ cup bean sprout

½ cup Chinese cabbage (chopped)

½ cup snow peas (cut into strips)

The noodles, fish sauce, and oyster sauce are available at Wal-Mart or at your local grocery stores (check the oriental section).

COOKING PREPARATION

Chicken

Heat the oil in a wok or deep frying pan. Sauté the onions, chicken, and garlic & continue cooking until the chicken is slightly brown. Season with oyster sauce, a bit of soya sauce for color, sesame oil & pepper. Set aside.

 Vegetables

In the same pan, heat 2 tbsp. of oil. Stir fry the vegetables (carrots & snow peas – 1 minute; then add the peppers & cabbage – another minute; lastly the bean sprouts. Season the vegetables with (oyster sauce, pepper, fish sauce). Set aside.

Noodles

In the same pan, boil 1 cup of water. Season it with pepper & 1 tbsp. of soya sauce. Add the noodles & cook it until all water is completely absorbed by the noodles.

Incorporate the chicken & vegetables into the noodles or serve the three in different dishes. This is completely up to you.

I like to squeeze a little bit of lemon on top but this is optional. I personally like to eat this with a piece of bread or a bun on the side.

Here’s a Video

Bon appétit!
