On our recent two-day camp trip these beautiful birds came to our porch. We offered them pieces of bread and we were amazed how friendly they were!
As they took the pieces of bread one by one from our hands, we had so much fun watching them hide every piece of food into the different part of the woods. I saw one particular hiding place… the gray jay inserted it into a birch tree bark! That was truly amazing!
They move in & out so fast! But once in a while they don’t mind posing just to get the right picture! Mike even had a video of them taking pieces of bread from his head. It was so cool to watch!

Mountain Adventures! The Lynx Cabin (1/2)
Of course Welcome to our Home for two days! (Lynx Cabin)
We hiked some trails inspite of the wet & sticky snow. But it was better the following day when it froze and we didn’t have to sink every step that we took.
It was a resting, relaxing, recharging fun trip for both of us. Well, we can’t forget THE FOOD RIGHT?
Sure enough our new friends came back the following morning but we took a chance of offering them our leftover rice! So cute that they were not picky at all.
I think that one of my favorite moments was when one of them landed on my hand, paused & looked at me before leaving with a piece of food. It was probably a “thank you look” and I just loved it! Thank you Lord for such beautiful unforgettable moment. They are grateful but I am more grateful!
We got to do some other stuff as well. I did try the bow drill but after hiking some trails I didn’t have enough energy to continue. I had smoke though! Maybe next time! Mike succeeded and he made it look so easy.
Well, Spring is coming soon and we are looking forward to it! For now take care Folks. We appreciate you and we are very grateful for your friendship and support to the BushcraftBartons these many years. God Bless & Enjoy the Wilderness!
